I have to admit, when I was approached about this session, I really have to get my game face on. A whole family, grandparents and parents and brothers and sisters and cousins and nieces and nephews and in laws. All of that.
I consulted with my friend/photographer and asked how she ran the show with the big families. She gave me a work flow example, gave me some suggestions on what to ask and how to organize everything, and basically was a complete gem to me.
This session could not have gone better. These families came with their game faces on, all spiffed up, and knocked it out of the park. Somehow we were done in under an hour, no one cried, everyone got beautiful pictures… it was a modern day miracle. And I enjoyed every minute of it. So many personalities, so much history. Come to think of it, the reason everyone was together in the middle of the summer was to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of the grandparents. What could be a better occasion?!
